The village of Luče in the Savinjska Valley has become the first self-sufficient energy community in Slovenia. Petrol (the largest Slovenian energy company), together with its partners Elektro Celje (a local electric utility company) and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Ljubljana, took care of the technical integration of the network as part of the Compile project. The system in Luče represents the first such energy community in Slovenia that can fully cover its needs for electricity only based on production from renewable sources. Mobility Centre Maribor is a multipurpose space designed to coordinate and actively promote sustainable mobility in Maribor, the second-largest city in Slovenia. The Centre's functions include the coordination of sustainable mobility in the city and the "bike kitchen", or a bicycle repair shop. In 2018, the Slovenian Ministry of Infrastructure issued new regulation on self-sufficiency in electricity from renewable energy sources, which enabled private consumers in multiresidental buildings to take part in the green transformation and start producing their own electricity. In February 2019, the first solar power plant on a multi-apartment building in Slovenia was built in Jesenice town. One hundred and twenty-nine solar panels were installed on the roof of the building with 23 apartments. They produce 37,000-kilowatt hours of green electricity annually, which fully covers the needs of the residents.…
