We stay on the ground is a non-profit, non-political organisation that works primarily through its website and social media. Their purpose is to spread awareness about the climate impact of aviation and to promote a reduction in air travel. The organisation started in 2018 and has since then run the campaign “Flight free” (in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022, respectively) to encourage citizens to make a pledge to stay on the ground for a whole year, talk about it, and thus inspire others to make the same decision.
