In the city of Uster in the canton of Zurich, a citizens’ assembly for more climate protection was implemented in 2021, in which 20 randomly selected residents participated over two weekends in a deliberative process that targeted the areas of information dissemination, waste and consumption, urban planning, and mobility. The panel resulted in 44 recommendations addressing both the population and the city authorities.
