State assistance for families with children in the purchase of high energy efficiency housing (the programme “Balsts”). Augstas energoefektivitātes mājokļu iegādes atbalsts ģimenēm ar bēniem (programma “Balsts”)

Latvia has general terms concerning state assistance for the purchase or construction of residential space, particularly for families with children. To encourage energy-efficient dwelling, from 1 July 2020, additional assistance in the case of the purchase or construction of a nearly zero energy dwelling (compared to the general terms) is available for families with children in the form of: (1) an increase in the guarantee for a loan issued by a commercial institution for families with at least one child (or pregnancy), (2) an increased subsidy for families with at least three children (or two children plus pregnancy).
