Save Druridge is a campaign group that has successfully defended “Druridge Bay” against the Banks Group’s proposed Highthorn opencast coal mine. The group brought together environmentalists and local politicians, including the local Green Party, among others. The group not only provided information about the anticipated impacts of the project but also drafted letters of objection, petitions, and formal opposition to the planning application and organized a public inquiry.
