The Reinli small-scale hydropower plant is a community-initiated renewable energy project. In 2002, 35 local landowners established a general partnership to manage the waterfall rights of the Reina River, and the hydropower plant became operational in 2008 with the help of Småkraft AS, a small-scale hydropower plant operator. The aim was to utilize the power in the local river, and in addition to renewable energy production, the income generated from the project for local landowners is invested into local farms for current and future generations.
