Brixton Energy is a not-for-profit co-operative based in south London. It creates cooperatively owned renewable energy projects whose financial revenues stay within the local community. Since 2012, three projects have been implemented with the support of Repowering South London, a not-for-profit organisation that specialises in facilitating the co-production of community-owned renewable energy projects. Apart from interest on the investments, 20% of the profits go to the Community Energy Efficiency Fund to support local energy-saving initiatives in the region.
