Ecovillage of Hjortshøj Andelssamfundet i Hjortshøj

Andelssamfundet i Hjortshøj is a citizen-driven cooperative close to Århus that was established in 1987 and built in 1992. The aim was and still is to build a local community with organic social cohesion, and thus which can test new environmental initiatives and new forms of social communities inspired by the rest of society. Today, 300 people live in eight housing groups.
